Highlights of the 2008 Annual General Meeting

SERGE VILLARD AWARD

The recipient of the 2008 Serge Villard Award is Mr. Roberto Barrotavena.

Roberto has a licentiate in Chemistry from the University of Buenos Aires. An assessor since 2000, Roberto has performed nearly 20 assessments and has been a member of the CAEAL Advisory Panel since 2005. His areas of expertise include AAS and ICP Techniques, General Chemistry and Lab QA/QC.

DON LABERGE AWARD

This recipient of the 2008 Don LaBerge award is Mr. James Downie.

James has a Technology Diploma in Chemical Sciences from BCIT. He is a RAQQSA assessor and has been an assessor with CAEAL since 1997, performing over 40 assessments - half of them as a lead assessor. James also served on the Board of Directors from 2003-2005, serving as President in 2004. His areas of expertise include Trace and Ultra Trace Metals Analysis, Quality Management Systems and Laboratory Management. James is currently an industry consultant.
